Christmas came early to Zelda fans, as the Zelda series made its way back in full force on the Nintendo 64. Zelda fans should not be disappointed.
Zelda: Ocarina of Time starts off by giving you a dose of just what graphics is meant to be on the N64. Taking full advantage of N64's advanced graphics engine, Zelda uses detailed textures, well designed animations, and a semi-full motion video, using the game engine to generate movie scenes. The lighting is speculator and will leave viewers shocked.
Along with the stunning graphics comes beautifully mastered music. This new soundtrack mixes familiar sounds from previous Zelda games, along with new amazing mixes of music. The sound effects are all well done, allowing you to hear the clearness of the ocarina and the strength in Link's grunts. The story is just one more thing adding to this great game. Taking the previous stories somewhat into account, Link travels back and forth through time to stop Ganondorf from recovering all 3 pieces of the triforce. With help from the 6 sages, each of which you must seek out and save, you can seal him back in the place where he belongs. The story is complex and includes millions of things to do along side it, leaving any gamer a challenge to come back and do the next time.
By far and away the best RPG on the N64, this game is beyond a must have. Anyone looking to get into the Zelda series, or looking to continue their quest in the land of Hyrule, must own it. The SMRC gives this game a 100/100!
