Mack is the first of smithys gang you meet up with. With very little work, I am sure you can beat this one. Mack, along with the rest of the bosses are not prone to silence, sleep, poison, or fear attacks. Mack, although, seems to be afraid of thunder attacks (from Mallow). So have fun with your first fight against him in the Mushroom Kingdom.
